This is a digitization of Josef Albers' 25-year-long exploration of the interaction of color in his rigid and beautiful Homage to the Square series.

Hit "new" to generate a random color for the center square. Each concentric square is based on the one immediately inside it, using different mathematical functions that add or subtract varying levels of red, green, or blue to get its color. So, as with Albers, these combinations are not random. All the colors are related to each other.
